BL Manga Recommendation 2015

Hi! It’s me Pipsqueek. I’ve not much been around these couple of months and I thought I should contribute something for the holidays. ^^

A few months ago I was avidly sharing photos of BL manga I bought @ BL Updates. There were a lot of releases this year which fattened my heart. But I won’t be talking about the Japanese releases, as this fan community’s mainly English-based, I’ll be recommending bl manga scanlations IN ENGLISH which I truly enjoyed.

Most of them were released as books this year and it's all thanks to the hardworking translation groups that we get to read them in English at the soonest time possible. (｡♥‿♥｡)~!

If you’ve already read them, then high-five! We’re on the same track. But if you haven’t then I’d really like it if you enjoy them. Here are scanlations to keep you company:

Harada and Ogeretsu Tanaka were on a roll this year! They had lots of releases and the scanlation groups were quick to scanlate their works. These two artists also became my new biases. I've started collecting all of their books. ^_^;;

Harada works: Yoru to Asa no Uta ; Yajirushi ; Yatamomo and sequel Sumomo ; Suimenka ; Piercing Hole. I've said it before: Harada is not normal. SICK. SICK MANGAKA. Keeps on leaving me wanting more. UGH. Makes me wonder if Harada's a group. The stories are just PERFECT.


There were other hit releases of 2015, but the scanlation groups have yet to touch on the chapters. Like ongoing series such as: Natsume Isaku’s Ameiro Paradox, Sakyo Aya’s Kuroneko Kareshi no Afurekata, and Ashita wa Docchi da! by Yamamoto Kotetsuko.

I was so happy when I had my copies of Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki by Scarlet Beriko, and Yasaotoko to Sadistic by Hideyoshico. Awesome releases.

It's funny how Yasaotoko to Sadistic by Hideyoshico came to be. It started with a powerful one-shot: I Love You Until the End of the World. The story made you wish there was more but you agree thinking 'Wow, that story was so solid. There might never be a second chapter.'

And then months (or a year?) later when another chapter came, Inu to Kami-sama, and I was like 'Hell yeah! Another chapter!!!" But then again I found the story so standalone-ish, it was so good, it's okay even if there'd be only two chapters. But the process repeated until there was a whole volume of it. Ahahahaha!!

If you want more, I recommend going back to the works of Hino Garasu, Kinoshita Keiko, Kusama Sakae, Minase Masara, Katou Setsuko, Masao Sangatsu, Yukimura. (There are more artists in mind.) You could have a marathon and have a feel good read. Enjoy! ^^
